香港华人基督教联会捐90万援助内地艾滋病孤儿

（福音时报） 香港华人基督教联会（简称“联会”）董事例会于2010年1月4日，通过“中国预防性病艾滋病基金会”的请求，支持援助内地艾滋病孤儿项目，捐赠人民币90万，帮助三百名孤儿。同时呼吁各香港华人基督教联会会员堂支持该项目，施以援手帮助更多受艾滋病苦害的孤儿。

中国艾滋病不断蔓延 专家警告中国正处在艾滋病大爆发边缘
当前中国艾滋病感染者和患者的数字正在不断攀升，已开始由高危人群逐渐向普通人群蔓延。被媒体誉为“中国民间防艾第一人”、著名预防艾滋病活动家高耀洁大夫注意到，许多艾滋病遗孤是靠家中的老人照顾。这些老人很难有看着他们长大的那一天。而除非他们父母双亡，孤儿院又不能接受这些遗孤。
根据中国预防艾滋病基金会数据显示，艾滋病在中国流行传播的形势依然十分严峻，已波及全国31个省市自治区。评估全国有艾滋病人和感染者约70万人。在亚洲位居第二位，在全球居第14位，随着部分地区艾滋病发病和死亡高发期的出现，社会上遗留下大批艾滋病孤儿，他们正面临失学、营养缺乏、生活困难和社会歧视，亟需得到各方的关怀及援助。
公共卫生专家警告说，中国正处在艾滋病大爆发边缘，如果现在不严肃对待，到2010年，这个数字将上升到1000万。云南防治艾滋病工作委员会办公室副主任王云生说，“艾滋病在静脉吸毒人群中的平均流行率从1993年的5.3%上升到了2003年的21.2%,局部地区流行率高达60-70%。”2004年9月，云南省累计感染者17390例，艾滋病人1118例，其中665人已经死亡。
“这些数字意味着相当多的孩子将成为无人依靠、居无定所的艾滋病遗孤，” 王云生说。“更令人不安的是，如果亲戚不收养、社会不接纳他们，这些遗孤可能滋长对社会的仇恨，变成具有破坏性倾向的人。”
香港华人基督教联会献爱心温暖艾滋病孤儿
2007年9月28日，中国预防性病艾滋病基金会在北京人民大会堂举办“香港宗教界献爱心捐善款救孤儿大会”，香港华人基督教联会带头捐赠港币一百万。此外香港华人基督教联会前陈世英、罗耀嫦夫妇捐赠五十万，费用已用于持续救助云南、河南、四川、新疆等八省区3393名艾滋病孤儿，切实帮助这群因父母患艾滋病而成为孤儿的孩子改善了生活环境，让他们感受到社会的温暖及关爱。
据悉，2009年11月27日下午，中国预防性病艾滋病基金会在北京人民大会堂举行纪念基金会成立二十周年的庆典活动，表彰过去支持预防艾滋病事业的国内外企业单位和各界人士，香港华人基督教联会董事钟健楷牧师及钟嘉乐牧师特别代表联会出席，并由钟健楷牧师发言，表达联会对基金会事工的支持及对内地艾滋病孤儿的关怀。
香港华人基督教联会总干事陆幸泉牧师引用《雅各书》1：27节“在神我们的父面前，那清洁没有玷污的虔诚，就是看顾在患难中的孤儿寡妇，且保守自己不沾染世俗。”表示神喜悦信徒看顾孤儿。在联会董事于2010年1月4日例会上，援助艾滋病孤儿项目人民币90万，共资助三百名孤儿，每位人民币三千元，联会随即汇款给该基金会。此外，联会盼望帮助更多艾滋病孤儿，已致函该会各会员堂，呼吁全港信徒齐来支持救助艾滋病儿童项目。
