新華網馬那瓜３月９日電（記者劉璇許雷）尼加拉瓜艾滋病病毒感染者幫扶機構９日公佈的數據顯示，２００９年該國艾滋病病毒感染者人數已經接近４０００人，其中四成為女性。
該機構負責人阿雷利·卡諾說，２００９年該國艾滋病病毒感染者較２００８年增加了３００人，另有６名兒童死於病毒感染引發的並發症。此外，艾滋病病毒正在由少數特定人群向不同年齡的一般人群傳播擴散。
卡諾說，由於缺乏預防艾滋病的基本知識，尼加拉瓜的女性和兒童感染艾滋病病毒的機率不斷增加。卡諾呼籲尼加拉瓜衛生部門加大對艾滋病防控措施的宣傳力度，並為病毒感染者提供必要的醫療、藥品救助。她還呼籲尼社會各界不要歧視艾滋病病毒感染者，幫助他們獲得繼續生活的勇氣。
數據顯示，尼加拉瓜１９．３％的艾滋病病毒感染者集中在首都馬那瓜市。此外，西部的奇南德加省和萊昂省，以及東南部的馬薩亞市也是感染者較集中的地區。
