Baking Chinese Stuffed Bun(烤包子)


Eating bread some times is not bad because bread has different flavors and rather different from rice and steamed buns. But in America we had to eat bread every day if we didn’t make Chinese food by ourselves.

Northern Chinese like pasta while southerners prefer rice, we Shandongnese like pasta very much, so we bought some wheat flour and yeast from the supermarket and try to make bun, stuffed bun, pancakes etc. by ourselves. We took the trouble to made buns several times and at last we found an oven in the kitchen, which made me think what if we just bake the stuffed bun.

We got about seven pounds of ground pork, some onions, and try to make baked stuffed bun, in china we usually make steamed bun. After several times of experiments we got success at last, it looks much like bread in appearance while tastes just like Chinese stuffed bun.
