美国常春藤名校任命首位亚裔院长

新华网华盛顿３月２日电 美国常春藤名校之一达特茅斯学院２日宣布任命首位亚裔院长，开常春藤院校聘任亚裔人士任院长之先河。
现年４９岁的金永鸩（音译）出生在韩国首都首尔，５岁时随家人移居美国中西部的艾奥瓦州。金永鸩曾担任世界卫生组织艾滋病事务负责人，因在发展中国家推进艾滋病治疗方面作出突出贡献，成为《时代》周刊评出的２００６年世界１００位最有影响力人物之一。
现任哈佛大学医学院全球健康和社会医学系主任的金永鸩将于今年７月１日接任达特茅斯学院院长一职，并会继续为本科生授课。
达特茅斯学院位于新罕布什尔州汉诺威，创立于１７６９年，是美国东北部８所著名的常春藤高校之一。
