调查显示南非青少年艾滋病感染率显著下降

根据南非人类科学研究委员会最新的调查结果，到去年为止，由于对感染了艾滋病病毒的孕妇实施母婴阻断等措施，两岁至14岁儿童中的艾滋病感染率从2002年的5.6％下降到了2.5％。此外，15岁至24岁青少年中的艾滋病感染率从2005年的10.3％下降到了8.7％。
不过报告同时显示，艾滋病在成人当中的感染率有所上升，该国的艾滋病问题依然严峻。报告呼吁南非政府继续加大对防治艾滋病方面的投入力度。
根据该委员会的报告，截止2008年，南非的艾滋病感染者为520万，占到全国总人口的10.6％，这一数字与该组织在2002年的调查结果相比没有明显变化，其中青年妇女依然是艾滋病的最大受害者，在20岁至34岁的青年妇女中，三分之一为艾滋病病毒携带者。
