【财新网】（实习记者 刘虹桥）11月11日，在盖茨基金会北京代表处组织的一次记者沙龙上，清华大学艾滋病综合研究中心主任景军教授表示，农民工的艾滋病流行问题已不容忽视。
根据卫生部2009年网络直报数据，中国新感染的HIV病例中有17%是流动人口。而景军和他的研究团队根据此前对北京市外地农民工的调研报告数据推算，认为网络直报的流动人口中应该有80%属于农民工。
与中国城市化进程相随的，是农村人口外出务工并渐渐在城市定居。2009年，中国农民工数量已超过2亿人，而少数农民工的不安全商业性行为和男男性行为等，也为艾滋病的传播提供了温床。
然而，无论是农民工自身，还是整个社会保障体系，似乎都无法与艾滋病的传播速度抗衡。
景军强调，艾滋病只是流动人口中存在的诸多问题的一个征兆，对农民工而言，在养老保险、社会保险、医疗保险和工伤保险等问题得到解决之前，艾滋病可能都排不上号，“如果连居住环境都不是安全的，农民工又怎么会想到戴套、定期做HIV监测？”
