一种母婴阻断类药物可控制怀孕艾滋病患者将病毒传递给新生儿。依照基金会的说法，非洲去年共有40万名新生儿从母体感染艾滋病病毒，但在法国只有4例。言下之意，药物已成熟，主要欠缺资金支持。
基金会提供的数据显示，它们所支持项目共计为全球79万名携带艾滋病病毒的孕妇提供母婴阻断药物，大约占全球需要这种治疗女性的45％。
