长期以来，口交被同性恋者视为危险度较低的性交方式，但据近日公布的一项调查结果显示，原来口交也很容易传播艾滋病毒。

研究人员发现，当其他可能感染方式被排除後，口交看来是导致当中八名同性恋者感染艾滋病毒的原因。在这八名艾滋病带菌者当中，大部分人以为口交危险性低，甚至全无危险。
八名因口交而感染艾滋病的男同性恋者，全部是替性伴侣进行口交时感染艾滋病的，而非接受口交时感染艾滋病。另外，他们进行口交时都没有戴安全套。
