澳大利亚艾滋病疫苗研究取得突破

据墨尔本大学5月6日报道，该校微生物与免疫学系（Department of Microbiology and Immunology）Ivan Stratov博士与Stephen Kent教授通过采用新技术，分析艾滋病毒（HIV）携带者的血液样品，发现HIV病毒携带者体内的病毒发生变异，躲避体内一种称为ADCC的抗体。该研究发现了ADCC攻击HIV病毒的部位以及HIV病毒如何变异躲避ADCC抗体的机理。这为开发HIV疫苗带来了曙光。
Stephen Kent教授说：“多个HIV疫苗试验表明，ADCC具有较强的抵抗HIV病毒的功能，但研究人员对ADCC的作用机理了解甚少。该研究结果表明，HIV病毒是多么的"狡猾"，但同时也表明，ADCC抗体确实迫使HIV发生变异，使HIV的"毒性"减弱。该研究结果还表明，如果在人体感染HIV病毒之前，通过疫苗使人体获得ADCC抗体，那么人体将可以免遭HIV病毒的侵袭。这正是本研究结果的最大意义（holy grail）”。
Ivan Stratov博士既是一位临床医生，也是一位研究人员。他说：“人类急需找到一个有效抵御HIV病毒的抗体。而我们的研究表明，ADCC抗体对HIV病毒有显著的免疫作用”。
目前，该研究小组正设计HIV疫苗，试图使人体产生ADCC抗体，抵御HIV。该研究成果发表在近期出版的、著名的《美国科学院学报（Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences of the United States of America，PNAS）》上。
