中国农村艾滋病患儿受救治不足--报告

路透北京4月20日---一防治艾滋病组织周一表示,尽管中国政府为所有艾滋病患者提供免费治疗,但仍有部分艾滋病患儿,尤其是来自农村家庭的患儿因贫困支付不起费用而没有得到治疗。

 

该组织称,有些家庭甚至不知道有艾滋病免费治疗项目。

 

亚洲促进会(Asia Catalyst)总监萨拉・戴维斯(Sara Davis)说:“中国在抗击艾滋病方面取得了巨大的进步,但许多艾滋病患儿没有得到正确的治疗。”

 

在中国可能有高达一万名感染艾滋病毒的儿童,大多数是因输液感染病毒或母婴传染。他们大多集中在河南省和云南省。

 

2005年,官方公布的受母亲传染的艾滋病患儿有9,000例。其中很多患儿活不到五岁,且通常未被查出患病。有些患儿居住地离医院太远而得不到有效救治,而因为医院和学校害怕传染,一些患儿无法入院或上学。

 

中国政府许诺为艾滋病患者提供免费药物治疗,但很多贫困家庭支付不起其它相关费用,或是并发症的治疗费用。

 

政府为治疗艾滋病免费提供四种一线抗病毒药物,但很多患者已经产生抗药性。亚洲促进会呼吁中国政府扩大额外医疗费用补助的覆盖面,提供更便宜的二线抗病毒药物。(完)

Reuters Beijing April 20 to Fight AIDS organizations --- I said Monday, in spite of all the Chinese government to provide free AIDS treatment, but there are still some children with AIDS, especially children from rural families can not afford due to poverty costs and did not receive treatment.


The organization said that some families do not even know there is free treatment for AIDS projects.


Association of Asia (Asia Catalyst) Director萨拉戴维斯(Sara Davis) said: "China in the fight against AIDS has made great progress, but many children with AIDS did not receive the correct treatment."


In China, there may be as high as 10,000 HIV-infected children, mostly due to transfusion or mother-to-child transmission of HIV infection. Most of them concentrated in the Henan Province and Yunnan Province.


In 2005, the official mother of the children there are 9000 cases of AIDS. Many of these children die before the age of five, and the disease usually is not detected. Some children live too far away from the hospital and the lack of effective treatment, and hospitals and schools because of fear of infection, some children can not be admitted to hospital or school.


The Chinese government promised to provide free AIDS drugs, but many poor families can not afford the other costs associated with, or treatment complications.


The Government provided free of charge for the treatment of AIDS in four first-line anti-viral drugs, but many patients have been resistant. Asian Association called for the expansion of the Chinese government subsidized the cost of additional medical coverage, to provide more affordable second-line anti-viral drugs. (END)
