曾因创办艾滋孤儿院“关爱之家”并独力抚养了53个“艾滋孤儿”引起社会广泛关注的河南艾滋病感染者朱进中，因感冒引起高烧造成急性肺部感染，于1月13日晚8点左右在北京地坛医院去世，年仅38岁。前天上午9时许，数十名热心艾滋病治疗的志愿者和医护人员在地坛医院为这位好心人送别，当朱进中遗体抬上灵车时，送行人员无不落泪。
染感冒死于艾滋病并发症
2004年12月27日，朱进中离开北京回家，没想到当地正好在下大雪，汽车只能开到离家1公里左右的村口，衣着单薄的他踩着积雪回到家时，两只鞋已经全被雪水湿透。第二天朱进中就开始咳嗽，并开始发烧，最高时曾达39.5摄氏度。由于家里条件困难，尽管家人想把他送进医院治疗，但被朱进中拒绝。
2005年1月5日，由于高烧长时间未退，病情有恶化的趋势，一直在家输液的朱进中被送到北京，进入地坛医院救治。10日深夜朱进中病情加重，被送入重症监护室。11日凌晨3点，朱进中开始使用呼吸机维持生命。此后他一直处于昏迷状态，再没有醒过来，直到13日晚8点离开人世。家人从医院处获悉，朱进中死于感冒引起的急性肺部感染。
朱进中去世时只有38岁，他在上世纪九十年代中期因卖血感染艾滋病，至今已有十年。记者从有关专家处了解到，艾滋病感染者或者病人通常不会死于艾滋病本身，多死于因免疫系统被破坏后造成的并发症，朱进中就属于这种情况。
临终前最放不下“艾滋孤儿”
朱进中所在的河南柘城双庙村曾因非法采血问题成为艾滋病的重灾区，3000多人的村子有近500名感染者，其中很多已发病去世。朱进中创办了艾滋孤儿院“关爱之家”，先后将村内外53名因艾滋病致孤的孩子领回家中收养的事迹(他有两个孩子)，在社会上造成了巨大反响。2004年1月29日，当地政府关闭了“关爱之家”，将大部分艾滋孤儿送进了县上办的“阳光家园”，但目前仍有四个孩子住在朱家。
15日下午，朱进中的二弟朱进德含着热泪告诉记者：“哥哥在被送进北京地坛医院时，已经不能进食，连说话都已经很困难，他自己也像预感到了什么，把剩下的药都送给了其他病友，还对守在病床前的嫂子和我说，无论怎么困难都要把家里的孩子们带大。
遗体火化回乡母亲还不知情

记者问起朱进中自己的两个孩子，二弟朱进德说，哥哥去世的消息刚刚才告诉了姐弟俩，他们都已上了中学，已经懂事了，但是那些曾在“关爱之家”度过失去父母后最困难时光的孩子们，目前还不知道“朱爸爸”已经不在了。而朱进中的父母年已七旬，也都是感染者，老母亲目前因为身体虚弱正在当地治疗。“早上母亲还打电话来问哥哥怎么样，我骗她说正在给哥哥买粥，还不敢告诉她实情，怕她接受不了。”朱进德说。
弟弟打算辞职继承哥哥遗愿
除了父母和朱进中外，朱家其余人都是健康人。原本在北京打工多年的朱进德现在已经准备辞职回家：“哥哥没有了，嫂子身体又不好，这个家只有我来扛。”临行前他告诉记者：“我已经想好了，以后一定要完成哥哥的心愿，把孩子们带大，帮助更多的艾滋病感染者。”
这让记者想起2003年12月第一次采访朱进中时的情景———当时记者问他：“你为什么要照顾这么多孤儿?”他回答说：“现在我帮助别人的孩子，以后哪天我不在了，别人也会这样照顾我的孩子。尤其是那四个孤儿，一定要让他们继续读书，不能对不起孩子的父母。”
记者在采访中还了解到，除了照顾好孩子之外，朱进中生前还想办个塑料加工厂，让村里那些感染了病毒但仍有劳动能力的人有份工作，不用空等政府的救济。为此他甚至借钱买了一些设备，但是厂子还没办起来，他就已经撒手人寰。

孩子们和朱进中原本对2004年充满着憧憬
原来的“关爱之家”如今早已物是人非，空荡荡的房子里除了几张光床板外已不见孩子的踪影。朱进中曾经住过的一楼现已设为他的灵堂，他的骨灰就安放在屋子进门的地方。55个孩子曾经住过的二楼被一把铁锁牢牢地锁住。在院子后边，前年本报组织孩子们一起包饺子的厨房如今已废弃不用。在厨房隔壁的两间饭厅里记者看到，一台积满了尘土的洗衣机闲在一边，里屋的光板床上堆着几件孩子们的破旧衣服。墙上，孩子们用彩纸拼成的2004图案和用粉笔写的心连心几个字，似乎还能让人感到孩子们当初对这一年的美好憧憬。
在灵堂里，朱进中的妻子杨桂香向记者诉说了这一年来朱进中的境遇。
2003年12月，一些媒体报道了关爱之家的情况后，引来很多的社会援助。中央电视台一次性捐款就达100万元，还有各地通过汇款方式汇来了钱。2004年的元旦和春节，朱进中和孩子们都是在对新年的憧憬中度过的。
“关爱之家”两次被取缔
2004年春节过后，朱进中的日子开始一天天的难过起来。“一次我和朱进中吃饭，一顿饭下来他一连接了十几个电话，一种是四乡八村慕名而来‘托孤’的家长的电话，另一种是县里催他赶快回来处理孩子问题的电话。”一位朱进中的生前好友回忆说，2004年1月29日，朱进中所在的柘城县新开了一所专门收养艾滋孤儿的“阳光家园”，按照政府要求，朱进中“关爱之家”里的孩子都要转进“阳光家园”。据当时在场的一位村民回忆，政府派出了三四辆面包车将孩子带走。一些不愿意走的孩子趴在地上哭，有些则跪在“关爱之家”的门口不愿意离开。社会各界捐给这55名孤儿的汇款也被转走。县里告知朱进中的理由是，一是他本人是感染者，“不适合”做这件事;第二，“关爱之家”没有在民政部门注册，“不合法”。
记者在一份名单上看到，2004年3月，朱进中又陆续收留了本村及临近村69名单亲或双亲死亡的孤儿。这些孤儿住在后来大宝集团援建的东面新楼里。3个月后，“关爱之家”再次被取缔。据了解，这批艾滋孤儿没被“阳光家园”收留，很多孩子现在已经辍学。
村民把去年的低死亡率归功于朱进中
“朱进中的死跟他想做的事太多有关。”前来为朱进中吊唁的卢广说。卢广告诉记者，2003年2月16日朱进中的“关爱之家”成立，3月他见到了朱进中，印象中朱进中是个很热心的人。几次来，都看见朱进中家里围满了前来咨询的村民。一些村民需要到北京治病，他也积极联系北京的佑安和地坛两家医院，并亲自带他们去看病。朱进中最后一次生病就是在领村民从北京验血回来的路上，着凉引起的肺部感染所致。去年，朱进中还与内蒙古一家药厂联系，免费给村民提供药品。“至今还有一些村民在服用这批药。”朱进中的妻子杨桂香说。
村民朱广福告诉记者，他和孙女现在主要靠一种叫s30的药维持着身体，而每次买这些药都是朱进中通过关系以成本价从外面给他们带来的。“现在朱进中没了，以后我们这些人吃药怎么办?”据了解，2004年朱进中所在的村一年的死亡人数不到7人，今年1个月还不到村里就陆续死了6口人。很多村民都把去年的低死亡率归于朱进中。
为村里办厂还欠三万元钱
在朱进中的妻子看来朱进中的死还与他的最后一个志愿———办一家村办塑料厂有关。“这一年来，他跑设备跑材料，眼看着今年年初厂子要办起来了，他自己却没了。”记者在朱家的院子里看到几堆塑料原料堆在院子里，两台制塑料的机器也已经到位。
“朱进中骨灰运回家的第一天，我就来了。当时院子里跪了一片人，有小的，还有老的。几个上了年纪的妇女跪在地上号啕不止。”卢广说，这些老人为朱进中跪哭的原因之一是，朱进中死后他们原本想赖以为生的塑料厂没法开工了。
“一个健康人办厂都会很劳累，别说他是一个病人了。”卢广说。
现在，朱进中家为办塑料厂买设备还欠着村西一家三万元钱。“这次进中去北京治病把家里仅剩的一万六千元钱全部花完了。办丧事还欠着人家钱。我现在就想着赶紧把厂办起来，完成他的心愿。”妻子杨桂香说。
55个孩子的命运各不相同
朱进中临死前的最后一句话是：“你一定要把家里的孩子拉扯大”。杨桂香回忆，1月10日凌晨在给朱进中上呼吸机前，他曾经苏醒了一阵，这也是他最后一次说话。他所说的“家里的孩子”指的是一直不愿离开“关爱之家”的朱红娜、朱小环、潘萌萌和被“阳光家园”开除后无处可去的朱春林以及自己的大女儿朱银萍和儿子朱凤昆。
记者了解到，原来“关爱之家”的55个孩子，现在大部分已被“阳光家园”收养，其他没被收养的孩子也在朱进中的努力下没有一个辍学。今年14岁的朱海豹的去向最令人欣慰，他被石家庄的一户好心夫妇收养。这对夫妻虽然已有了一个比朱海豹小的男孩，但仍对朱海豹视如己出。朱海豹自己也渐渐融入了这个家庭。而在去年记者问朱海豹是否愿意离开“关爱之家”去一个新城市开始新的生活，当时他的回答还是不愿意。
其他孩子的命运就没这么幸运了。9岁的朱冉冉后来被查出携带HIV病毒，因此没能进入“阳光家园”。现在她与自己的爷爷相依为命，吃住在家里，而她的爷爷和奶奶也是HIV的携带者。记者采访她时，奶奶正在住院，全家靠爷爷种地和“阳光家园”每月的150元补贴度日。小冉冉显得很蔫，不爱说话，眼神中流露出一种她这么大的孩子少有的忧郁。最后当记者跟她谈到2003年12月她得到新衣服的情景时，小冉冉的脸上才流露出一丝笑容。她爷爷告诉记者，朱冉冉的学习成绩非常好，这学期还拿了奖状，学校因此还奖给了她十元钱。
去年“阳光家园”开除了五名孩子
据了解，去年本报资助的55名孤儿中有5名已被“阳光家园”开除。他们是刘鑫、朱迎博、朱景龙、潘玉奇和朱春林。其间11岁的谢莹磊也被开除过一次，后来由于家里实在无力抚养，他爷爷求人又把孙子送回“阳光家园”。据几个当时在场的孩子说，谢莹磊被开除是因为老师认为他故意弄坏了拖鞋。现在上五年级的朱春林自从8月份被开除后，由于没有一个亲人，就再次被朱进中收养。他说，他被开除的原因是被认为故意破坏电源开关，致使电线皮着火。
而刘鑫、朱迎博、朱景龙、潘玉奇被开除，则有着另外的原因。据这四个孩子讲，开除他们的那天朱迎博的弟弟朱康康因吃饭时不服“管理”与保安发生冲突。午饭后，五个孩子和刘同、刘光、袁记超几个年龄较大的男孩子一起去与保安理论,被以不服管教为由开除。经过事后做工作，朱康康、刘同、刘光、袁记超后来返回“阳光家园”。
