对于数量巨大的外出务工人员群体来说，因文化程度偏低、接受艾滋病知识渠道不畅和知识缺乏、夫妻异地分居、业余娱乐生活贫乏、生活居住环境差等因素制约，少数人容易不自觉受吸毒、嫖娼等恶习的诱惑，把自己置于爱滋病传播危险中，成为离艾滋病很近的人群。
打工男子死于艾滋病？
38岁的男子蒋某，全州县人，今年春节过后到临桂县城某建设工地务工。
4月2日上午，蒋某因“发烧”到医院看病, 随后每天上午都去医院门诊打针。
4月7日中午，蒋某在工地老板陪同下又去医院检查。
4月8日上午，蒋某因呼吸困难，经医院救治无效死亡。

据蒋某的工友介绍，蒋某至今未婚，向来身体健康，曾和工友一起去找过“小姐”，此前也曾担心会不会感染梅毒之类的性病，却完全没有往感染艾滋病的危险上去想。
工友们还说，在他们身边，很多进城务工的民工，因为妻子不在身边，工余时间去找“小姐”的大有人在，甚至有未婚民工有时也跟着去。
工友们开始感到恐慌，如果蒋某的死因真是爱滋病，如果感染源真的来自卖淫女身上，那他们中间被艾滋病感染的可能就不止蒋某一人了。
蒋某的弟弟在接受记者采访时说，因为家在贫困山区，他在家里种田、照顾老人，哥哥外出打工。平时，哥哥很节约的，领了工钱都及时寄回家里，想存点钱盖新房讨个老婆。
“他不吸毒，也从没有卖血换钱的事情。如果真的象医生说的那样是感染了艾滋病，我估计只有一种可能了与别人发生过不正当的性关系。”
找“小姐”暗藏危机
记者在采访中了解到，在外来务工人员中，有过嫖娼经历的不在少数。
记者对临桂、灵川、全州、灌阳等县的部分进城务工人员进行调查时，听到最多的理由，说是缺少正常的夫妻生活，才偶尔去找“小姐”寻刺激。
记者访谈了100多名民工，年龄在18岁至50岁之间，已婚者占一半以上，超过80%的人坦言“晚上难捱”，很难遏制与异性发生性关系的冲动。用专家的话来说，这是一种性饮渴、性压抑的心态。
35岁的民工李某，全州县人，跟4月8日因病死于医院的民工蒋某一起外出打工多年。
“今年春节过后，我们一起来临桂县城做事。”李某说，来临桂半个多月后，自己的脾气突然变得暴躁，白天干活没有精神，晚上想睡却睡不着，“其实是想老婆了”。
李某说，后来他听说，临桂县城有个“好耍”的地方，收费很低，其针对的群体其实就是那些口袋里钱并不多的外来务工人员。
“我和蒋某去过几次，因为家里穷，每次找完"小姐"回到工地自己也心痛乱花了钱，但过了几天又忍不住了，领了工钱又想去。”
“爱滋病？以前不是很清楚的。现在听说老蒋是得爱滋病死的，我们才专门去了解一点，以后再不敢去找"小姐"了，要命哦。”

这可能是少数民工花钱嫖娼满足生理需求的动机。但他们不知道的是，不洁性行为正是爱滋病的重要传播渠道之一。
民工生活太单调
在城市里，外来务工人员的业余文化娱乐生活其实是很单调的，有的甚至基本没有什么娱乐活动。所以，劳累工作之余，打牌、赌博、喝酒甚至呼朋唤友一起去找“小姐”会成为主要“娱乐”，一些人借此填补远离家人、缺少亲情的空虚。
近几年来，尽管社会对民工工资、社会保障、子女教育等问题的关注不断升温，但身处城市的外来务工人员，仍难以享受城市普通居民的生活，也很难融进城市的文化娱乐中去，这是由他们的经济地位所决定。
比如游览，在临桂县城、灵川县八里街务工的一些民工对记者说，碰上雨天或临时停工待料，他们有时间了，却没法到市区去游玩。因为游览市区的一些公园，本地市区市民可以享受优惠和免费，但民工是从县里来的，要游览则要掏腰包买票。
比如住宿，他们一般几个人甚至10多个人住在一个工棚。厕所也是男女共用，早上起床后常常出现排队现象。有人等不及，就在野外解决，或在宿舍解决，然后再打包扔掉。这样一来，本来就不好的环境卫生就更加“脏乱差”了。
在临桂县城、灵川八里街的大街小巷甚至一些工地的围墙上，记者看到都贴有预防艾滋病的宣传标语，但因为民工大多文化程度不高，对此视若无睹。有人认为：“一般的性病，厕所里、电线杆上，到处都有治得好的广告。艾滋病应该是富贵病，只要不沾毒品，它离我们农民还远得很呢！”
灵川县定江镇政府有关负责人向记者介绍，他们也曾去企业、下村里宣传艾滋病知识，但愿意来听的人很少，有些人虽然领走了安全套，实际使用的人并不多。
艾滋防控新变化
20多年前，当桂林出现第一例入境艾滋病病人死亡病例时，很多人不以为然，认为艾滋病离我们还很远很远。

自重自爱是远离艾滋病的良方
