南非百万人自愿接受艾滋病检测

据南非布阿通讯社报道,南非卫生部长莫索阿莱迪21日在奥地利举行的世界艾滋病大会上说,自从今年4月启动大规模艾滋病咨询和检测行动以来,该国已经有近100万人自愿接受艾滋病病毒检测。

莫索阿莱迪说,其中70605人在检测出感染艾滋病病毒后得到了药物治疗。如果能够完成到明年6月底检测1500万人的目标,南非可能会新检测出165万艾滋病病毒携带者。但政府已经做好准备,到明年3月为50万患者提供药物治疗。
在今年4月开始的艾滋病防治新计划中,南非政府除为人们免费提供咨询和检测外,还扩大了对孕期妇女、同时感染结核病与艾滋病病毒人们的治疗范围,所有1岁以下儿童都可以得到免费治疗,妊娠期妇女从怀孕14周开始接受防止母婴传播的治疗。
