洪都拉斯多名变性者遭杀害 艾滋病规划署表示关注
2011年1月21日 艾滋病规划署发言人巴顿-诺特（Sophie Barton-Knott）1月21日在日内瓦举行的记者会上表示，自从去年11月下旬以来，洪都拉斯境内不同地方分别发生了六起杀害变性者的事件。该署对此表示关注，并敦促所有国家为变性者提供充分保护。
联合国艾滋病规划署强调对变性者的歧视将影响艾滋病防治工作的开展。
巴顿-诺特表示，所有形式的歧视，包括对变性者的恐惧，都会阻碍获取艾滋病防治服务的渠道，影响对艾滋病患者提供的服务的质量。
艾滋病规划署表示，洪都拉斯在国际和国内都展现出保护所有人人权的决心。艾滋病规划署同时对洪都拉斯所有变性者和“拉丁美洲变性者网络”为制止针对变性者的恐吓与暴力而开展的努力表示全面支持。
这几起变性者遭受杀害事件背后的动机目前尚不明确。
