据天府早报报道 贝利·马丁基金会创始人、不列颠帝国勋章获得者。1996年，创立“贝利·马丁”慈善基金，旨在奖励在中国为预防艾滋病、控制及关爱艾滋病人做出突出贡献的医务工作者。
花白头发、深色西服，说话时喜欢看着对方的眼睛，微微露出笑容。昨日，贝利·马丁基金会主席马丁·哥顿先生与基金会成员来到成都市传染病医院，为第12届获得贝利马丁奖的成员颁奖。
成立 因为一位华人挚友的建议
“来会场前，我先去了一趟病房，看望艾滋病人，与他们握手。”说到基金会的成立，马丁提到了自己一位患艾滋病的挚友贝利，“他是一位华人。”马丁说，贝利患病后，在英国晨曦医院得到了医生、护士和营养师的关怀，贝利去世前曾建议马丁建立一个慈善机构。马丁这样做了，并且在基金会的名字中使用了“贝利”。
贝利马丁奖在中国已经颁发了12届，每一次颁奖地的选择，都是在获奖者所在的城市。马丁说，这么做只有一个目的 让获奖者当地的机构和人民更重视艾滋病的防治工作。而获奖者的选择标准，就是看谁为艾滋病人服务，特别是到基层为艾滋病人服务。
感受 对艾滋病人的关爱在增多
从上世纪九十年代末到现在，马丁几乎每年都会来中国。马丁在中国的朋友，有卫生部部长，也有在医院照顾病人的医生、护士，还有服务于艾滋病人的社会组织，“在成都，我跟成都市传染病医院的医生和成都同乐关怀组织的成员都是朋友。”
10多年来，用马丁的话说，他感受到艾滋病人受到的关爱在增多，“歧视少了，对病人的态度好了。”马丁笑笑，他说很荣幸这个进步之中有他的一点贡献。
贝利马丁奖首次落四川
昨日2011年度贝利马丁奖颁奖仪式在成都市传染病医院举行，获得这届奖项的是成都市传染病医院及其负责人温贤敏、成都同乐关怀组织及其负责人王晓冬。
贝利马丁奖是2000年起开始颁奖的，武汉大学中南医院桂希恩教授、中国科学院曾毅院士都曾获得过这个奖。四川是首次有机构和工作人员获得该奖项。两位获奖者各获得了6万元人民币奖励。
温贤敏表示，她将把奖金的50%捐给艾滋孤儿和患艾滋病的贫困儿童、家庭，另外50%捐给成都市传染病医院，给奋斗在为艾滋病人服务而又有职业暴露的一线医务人员。
