４月２８日，记者从梧州市防治艾滋病攻坚工程联席会议上获悉，截止2011年3月31日，我市按现住址累计报告艾滋病病毒感染者及病人3013例，感染率略低于区内平均水平，但我市依然面临严峻的艾滋病疫情形势。
据市疾控中心统计的数据分析显示，我市当前艾滋病疫情呈弥漫性分布，从城市向农村扩散；从高危人群向普通人群扩散，流动人员感染上升；艾滋病三个传播途径并存，性传播及母婴传播呈上升趋势；大年龄组人群比例迅速明显增加；新发感染者大部分已进入发病期；死亡病例大幅上升。
就目前艾滋病的流行趋势，会议要求，要健全筛查机制，建立覆盖全市的艾滋病监测检测网络，提升各级医疗卫生机构的艾滋病咨询检测能力，尽可能发现和控制艾滋病感染者及艾滋病病人，县级以上综合医院、妇幼保健院、疾控中心的艾滋病检测实验室必须保证在今年7月底前能正常开展检测工作，80%的乡镇卫生院能开展初筛工作。
据了解，去年自治区督导检查时，我市艾滋病防治知识知晓率得分全区倒数第一，除校内青少年达标外，其余城市居民、农村居民、流动人口和农民工、校外青少年4项指标全部都没有达标，总体来说我市防治艾滋病宣传工作纵深度还不够，因此，对公共场所和单位内部进行有针对性的宣传艾滋病的严重危害及防治知识，让群众形成文明健康的生活方式，从根本上预防和控制艾滋病。
