救人要紧，她为急诊孕妇作担保

去年12月16日，怀孕已经38周的小赵突然见红，被送入闸北区中心医院后，医生发现她的血小板只有2000U，与正常产妇的10万-30万U的指标相差甚多。闻讯赶来的医院妇产科主任王萍意识到，必须立即为小赵输入大量的血小板，才能保住她那随时可能熄灭的生命之火。
小赵来自外地，她连一分钱的住院押金也没有交付。而每个单位的血小板价钱在3000元左右。危急时刻，王萍果断决定：救人要紧，由她为产妇作担保。医院立即启动紧急预案，立即为小赵输入血小板。小赵病情得到了控制后，王萍及时为她实施了剖腹产手术。随着一声响亮的哭声，一个小生命诞生了。患者家属握住王萍的手泣不成声：“谢谢你救了我们一家人。”
她终于可做妈妈了
作为一名共产党员、海外留学归来的医学博士，王萍时刻把患者的利益放在心上。来自江阴的小姜6年前被检查出患有子宫肌瘤，一直不敢手术。没想到婚后病情加剧，无法怀孕。她奔波多家医院，得到的都是相同的回答：“肌瘤使子宫严重变形，必须切除”。今年初，小姜辗转找到了王萍。王萍觉得小姜那么年轻，又想做妈妈，于是，她决定用先进的悬吊式腹腔镜手术摘除肌瘤，全力保全患者子宫。
打开小姜的腹腔后，王萍小心翼翼地剥离着每一个肌瘤，一个、两个……长时间的站立使王萍腰疾发作。王萍让护士帮助自己吃下了止痛药、戴上了腰托继续手术。5个多小时后，手术成功了，共清除肌瘤286个。小姜醒来的第一句话就问：“我的子宫还在吗？”当她听到“子宫保住了”时，顿时激动得泪流满面。
不给病人留下遗憾
今年2月23日，王萍接到市传染病医院求助，要为一名36岁的艾滋病患者做宫颈癌切除术。做手术被感染的风险极高，但王萍毫不犹豫地答应了。
在去传染病医院的路上，王萍接到哥哥的电话，得知母亲病情突然恶化，非常想见女儿最后一面。王萍在心中默默祈祷：“妈妈，您一定要等我、等我呀！”她相信，她的妈妈，一个曾拯救了无数患者生命的名医，一定会理解女儿这样做的。
经数小时手术，艾滋病患者宫颈癌的手术顺利完成了。当王萍匆匆赶去医院看望母亲时，母亲已昏迷，再也没能与女儿说上一句话就去世了。王萍含泪道；“作为一个女儿，我永远留下了遗憾。但作为一名医生，我没有给病人留下遗憾。这也是母亲教导我这么做的！”
今年七一前夕，王萍被授予“闸北区优秀共产党员”的称号。
