诺奖得主穆拉德与中国合作研发艾滋病新药

1998年诺贝尔医学奖获得者、美国俄亥俄州立大学教授费瑞德·穆拉德（Ferid Murad）9月30日表示，将与上海汉明波生物科技有限公司、东方红美国有限公司合作开展艾滋病病毒研究和新化合药物研发，探索艾滋病临床新疗法。
费瑞德在北京结束的“支持中国艾滋病新药研究会议”上称，对上海汉明波生物公司研发的艾滋病新化合药物非常关注，并愿作为其后盾，在药物分析、临床实验、技术专利申报等方面提供指导和帮助，以推动该药物尽快用于临床，为艾滋病患者提供新的选择。
据透露，由上海汉明波生物科技与东方红美国合作研发的艾滋病新药，采用新的作用机理和模式，已通过动物毒理实验；小样本临床实验研究表明，其疗效优于其他治疗方法和药物。根据美国食品及药物管理局和中国国家食品药品监督管理局的要求，目前正对该药进行设计申报和扩大临床试验。
美国国家科学院士、国家医学院士费瑞德·穆拉德因发现一氧化氮在心血管系统的作用而获得1998年诺贝尔医学奖，之后又参与研发开发出一种针对艾滋病病毒的人类蛋白酶抑制剂。
联合国艾滋病规划署发布报告显示，目前全球艾滋病病毒感染者已稳定在3300万人左右，约有400万艾滋病病人在接受治疗。从2001年到2008年，全球每年艾滋病新增感染人数下降了17%，从2004年至2008年，每年因艾滋病死亡人数减少了约10%。
世界卫生组织称，自艾滋病在1981年被首次发现以来，全球约2500万人死于艾滋病。由于大量发展中国家的艾滋病患者仍然缺少治疗条件，因此仍在期待新的艾滋病治疗方法。
