编钟奖”教授：治疗艾滋病药物可防艾

楚天金报讯 金报讯 记者余梅 通讯员陈菁报道：近日，2011年湖北省优秀外国专家“编钟奖”得主之一美国芝加哥大学医学院传染科教授恩斯罗·谢尔到访武汉大学中南医院，并介绍了全世界艾滋病防治最新进展。
谢尔教授报告了今年7月在意大利罗马举行的第六届世界艾滋病大会上的最新信息。他介绍，目前全世界感染艾滋病病毒的人数达3300多万人，增长得到遏制，只有约660万人享受到药物治疗。谢尔教授还介绍了几项国际上新的实验研究及其成果，有研究显示，治疗艾滋病的药物有助于防止人们感染艾滋病病毒。但他强调联合预防措施的重要性，即人们除了预防用药，还应改变行为才能防止感染艾滋病病毒。
谢尔教授从2003年至今，先后30余次到湖北，每次他都到中南医院进行演讲，传递国际艾滋病最新进展情况，并和同行讨论病例，相关医护人员从中受益匪浅。
