Special Encounter and Refund

This is the third time we went to Las Americas, not for traveling but for shopping, to buy cigarettes, shoes and clothes because at least the cigarettes in Duty Free is so cheap. We heard from one of colleagues that we need to bring our passports and forms or we will be in great trouble in returning to USA if we passed the border to Mexico, and we heard that we actually don’t need to go to Mexico and just say that we are going there and show our passports, then everything is ok, so we just brought our passports there.

The cigarettes there are really so cheap that is only $8 a package for SHERIFF, $38 for 3 packages of PALLMALL, so we bought some and want to bring them out, but the salesclerk said the cigarettes should be given in another window where the driver would take both the cigarettes and us to the border, that means we will be in trouble in returning if we really went there. There only two options for us to choose, one is to refund the cigarettes, the other is to pay tax, but it is illegal to pay tax here, so we had to return the cigarettes.

Then we had to go shopping, after hours of looking around, one of us decided to buy 3 pair of NIKE shoes, but in the course of checking-out, the cashier made some mistakes and overcharge my colleagues, so as a compensation she gave my colleague a discount of 20% off if she buy a pair of shoes in 2 hours, that give me an opportunity to buy the shoes I am so satisfied with.
