诺曼迪妈妈和她的孩子们
去看一场世界杯决赛，是很多南非人最大的愿望。有这样一群人，很想去，却去不了，也不能去，尽管足球是他们平日难得的娱乐内容之一。在约翰内斯堡，有这样一所大房子，生活着39个特殊的孩子。他们是不幸的，因为无辜的感染；他们又是幸运的，因为无私的大爱。
周末义工
“诺曼迪妈妈艾滋孤儿之家”，在约堡小有名气。有机会走进这里，得感谢白人房东多琳太太。这位快70岁的老人一直有做义工的习惯，每到周末，便会和几个老朋友相约去看望艾滋孤儿。相互熟悉之后，她“鼓动”我：“你一定要去看看那些孩子，那里是南非的另一面。”

慈爱妈妈
这些孩子看上去与常人无异，却是两种身份的结合体：孤儿、艾滋病儿童。因为年轻父母的不检点，他们天生就受到感染，往往出生时便被遗弃，无人照看。
孩子们大多刚刚学会走路，还走得踉踉跄跄。最大的不过三四岁，最小的只有三四个月大，还咬着奶嘴躺在婴儿床里。
房子的主人诺曼迪来了。这是一位50多岁的黑人妇女，短发，微胖，穿着一身廉价的运动衫裤。岁月在她本不妩媚的脸上刻下许多沟壑，眼神却温柔动人，一看就是慈爱的母亲。
原本聒噪的房间，立刻安静了下来。孩子们停止了吵闹，一个个拥到诺曼迪身边，用小脸蛋厮磨她的腿。诺曼迪像变戏法一样拿出几包饼干，屋子里又吵开了，满耳是“妈妈”的亲切呼唤。
诺曼迪说，孩子们健壮活泼，爱唱歌，爱运动，爱读书写字，与健康孩子的唯一区别，便是与生俱来的三个字母：HIV。除了需要定期接受药物注射，他们与普通孩子无异，有8名身体状况最好的孩子被允许在普通学校就读。
一应俱全
“我们这里不允许有访客，你是第一个，而且是第一个记者，多琳向我介绍了你。”忙碌的诺曼迪妈妈，决定抽出10分钟带记者参观一下整个房子。
4年前，拥有高级护理资格的诺曼迪护士在这里成立了艾滋孤儿护理中心，最初只有她和两个孩子，现在已经收养了39名患有艾滋或其他疾病的遗弃儿童。好心人出钱出地，而设计、装修等，几乎靠诺曼迪一人包办。现在，她雇了几个女护工，终于不用什么事情都要操心了。
说是房子，更像一所学校，从托儿所、幼儿园直到小学的寄宿制“学校”。孩子们大多6人一间寝室，每人一张床。有厨房，有教室，有操场，有游戏室，甚至还有迷你电影院。
“学校”还有一间特别的注射室。刚刚被收养的孩子在这里抽取血样，送往医院检测HIV，确认HIV阳性的孩子则定期在这里注射抗HIV药物。“被送到这里的时间越早，身体状况就会越好”，诺曼迪说，“他们活的时间也就越长。”
喜爱足球

播撒爱心

那一双双小手

多琳和我带去的礼物，只是一袋超市买来的面粉。这是诺曼迪妈妈最喜欢的，她不让他们吃零食，而面粉可以用来做早餐。多琳说，孩子们最需要的是关心和爱，而不是钱，因为，他们太寂寞。
